My Style

Style: Color blocking

Today, I’m having some fun with a little bit of color blocking.

Although it has been warm here in Florida lately, it is not yet time to break out the strapless sundresses. Being the maxi dress lover that I am, I can’t bear the thought of being unable to wear them in the winter months. So I took to my closet for a solution. I happened across a bright green button down that I used to wear when I worked in an office that required more business-like attire. I hadn’t worn it in over a year. But, the day had come. I cinched it around my waist and tied it tightly in a knot…voila! My old shirt had new life instantly, and it helped to create a great bit of color blocking as well.

Blue smocked maxi dress: Forever21 (old), similar here (love this one), here, and here

Cat eye sunglasses: Persol

Coin necklace: Forever21 (old), similar here

Bowler satchel: Jessica Simpson, similar here and here

Has it been unseasonably warm in your neck of the woods? Are you itching for spring and summer weather to arrive?
