Bright Style: Coral and Purple

The summer season is a great excuse to pair a bunch of bright colors together, in my opinion. The sun is shining, the beach is beckoning, and the colors are popping!

This is a new color combination for me. I picked up this coral/orange silk blouse from Ann Taylor LOFT around Christmas time, and I’ve been wearing it with jeans and leopard print shoes quite a bit. But with the heat levels increasing steadily around here, jeans are just too stuffy. So – a pair of bright purple shorts seemed to be my answer!

I have to say, bright coral/orange and purple don’t automatically seem like a go-to color combination, but they really pair well together for the summer. People might see me coming in this outfit, but on a bright and sunny day it just seems right!

I donned this outfit for a dinner at Bonefish, so I decided to pair it with a fun necklace and a pair of heels to dress the look up a bit. During the daytime, I would definitely opt for flats instead. But I really couldn’t stop myself from wearing my new shoes.

May I introduce you to the Carol shoe from ShoeMint? Oh boy, they are lovely. This was my very first pair of shoes purchased from ShoeMint, and I am obsessed. The quality is great, and they are actually very comfortable to wear! The thicker heel keeps you feeling well balanced in comparison to a stiletto heel, which is great: they can go the extra mile and won’t give you aching feet.

Do you have a favorite bright color to wear in the summer?
