My Style

Shorts with fringed boots

Today’s outfit involves a combination I have actually never tried before. There’s a first time for everything though, right?

For a few seasons now, I’ve coveted pairs of ankle boots but never actually purchased a pair. Ankle boots (in my opinion) can be extremely tricky to fit properly. If you are vertically challenged like me, you might worry about shortening the look of your legs by wearing a pair. So many ankle boots I’ve tried in the past have not hit me in the right spot, have been the wrong color, or the like. But then…I met this new pair of kicks.

These fringed ankle boots (by Chinese Laundry) are such a great color. If you are trying to elongate your legs, nude/skin tone shoes in general will help to keep the line of your leg going instead of cutting it off like a dark shoe would. Finally, I found a pair of boots that wouldn’t make my legs feel really stumpy! The fringe is also an awesome detail, in my opinion.

I know I’ll have fun wearing these boots with pants and tights/dresses when the weather gets colder, but for now I thought I’d try them out with shorts for a casual look! I think I will have fun continuing to wear them with some other clothing in my wardrobe…

Are you a fan of ankle boots? Do you own a pair?
