Mixing prints can be confusing at times. I’ve only recently started to combine complementary prints in my wardrobe; it’s a challenge! To be successful, you have to put some thought into each piece. Pairing prints willy-nilly can have some problematic results if not done properly; you don’t want to look like you got dressed in the dark!
If you’re new to mixing prints and just want to test the waters, I would suggest adding print accessories into your outfit, like I did the other day!
Floral and animal prints can really work well together! Don’t you think? It all depends on the proportion of print: since the flower pattern on the dress is small, pairing it with the bold tiger stripe clutch works. I don’t think this combination would work as well if the flowers were large; the patterns would compete. Floral with animal prints are a fun combination; I also like mixing floral with stripes. All it takes is a little creativity and confidence to pull it all off!

Have you tried mixing prints? What are your favorite ones to pair together?
I love mixing a masculine print, like herringbone or houndstooth with a feminine print, like a floral or an Indian-inspired scarf
Oooh, love that combo too!
I loooooove your bracelet!
Speaking of prints, I am digging your nails! I’ve never done anything other than a solid color but I did just order that exact nail strip pattern along with a few other to try out.
It was my first time trying the Sally Hansen nail strips, and I love the result! I am definitely going to buy more of them in the future…can’t wait to see what prints they’ll come up with next!
Adorable! Love the mixing of the prints here. I like mixing stripes with polka dots, but it takes a lot of guts.
Stripes and polka dots are a great combo! I can’t wait for it to get a little chillier here; I have some dotted tights that I love wearing with a striped shirt!
I don’t think they match but I can get behind stripes and florals, just not animal stripes and florals. Both are so bold on their own!
Ah, but that’s the beauty of it, right? They don’t match…they aren’t supposed to! They are just supposed to “go together,” if you will….haha! 😉 Ah, fashion is in the eye of the beholder, eh?
I agree. I couldn’t do it but if you are confident about the look, it won’t matter. You can wear it with style.
You are so adorable! I love mixing polka dots and leopard!
