Mixed print adventures

Mixing prints can be confusing at times. I’ve only recently started to combine complementary prints in my wardrobe; it’s a challenge! To be successful, you have to put some thought into each piece. Pairing prints willy-nilly can have some problematic results if not done properly; you don’t want to look like you got dressed in the dark!

If you’re new to mixing prints and just want to test the waters, I would suggest adding print accessories into your outfit, like I did the other day!

Floral and animal prints can really work well together! Don’t you think? It all depends on the proportion of print: since the flower pattern on the dress is small, pairing it with the bold tiger stripe clutch works. I don’t think this combination would work as well if the flowers were large; the patterns would compete. Floral with animal prints are a fun combination; I also like mixing floral with stripes. All it takes is a little creativity and confidence to pull it all off!
