This weekend I had the pleasure of attending the first annual Clearwater Uncorked event. It was held on Saturday and Sunday afternoon on the gorgeous (and soft) sands of Clearwater Beach. You really couldn’t ask for a better setting. There was a big white tent, food, lots of wine, and the sand in your toes…what a great combo!
We signed in, collected our wine glasses, and got started! We sampled some escargot from The Lobster Pot. Well – Justin sampled it…I just couldn’t do it (it’s a texture thing, I swear).
However, they were also serving up plates of pork with creamy polenta. Yum!
The Sandpearl was offering baked brie puffs filled with pear compote. They were flaky and oh so very delicious…
One of my favorite Tampa Bay area restaurants, Ceviche, was also in attendance. They were serving up petite glasses of sangria, as well as some tuna in homemade blue corn tortilla cones.
It was definitely bustling throughout the tent during the event. So much so that it was a bit overcrowded for my liking. Perhaps for the second annual event, the planners will allow for larger walkways in between the tables. It was so incredibly crowded that I felt like a sardine at times…
At least there was wine involved…
The Hyatt had a gorgeous display of soup shooters and an oyster bar!
Last (but not least), we had to partake in a little bit of dessert! Ciao Bella gelato and sorbet was present at Uncorked, and they were by far my favorite vendor! Have you spotted any of their products in stores before? They had a variety of treats to sample: sorbet pops, key lime graham ice cream sandwiches, and s’more ice cream sandwiches.
Every single taster we sampled was so delicious! I may or may not have taken more than one sample during our time at the event…I couldn’t help myself. Also, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t heading straight to the grocery store today to stock up on the goodness! And guess what? They are about to release a brand new product: frozen Greek yogurt! I’m really interested and excited to see how that tastes; it sounds delicious to me!
Well, that about wraps it up! With full bellies and a few samples of wine, everyone in my group left satisfied (and maybe a bit jostled from the close quarters)!
What were you up to this weekend? Were there any fun events to attend?
Looks tasty. We didn’t end up buying tickets. I had a feeling it might be crowded and I’m not a fan of crowds. Instead we built a patio.
Pretty sure “key lime graham ice cream sandwiches” is the best thing I’ve ever heard of.
Glad Clearwater is having events like this! I would have also snuck more than one of those ice cream sandwich samples! yum!
