My Style

Brights and a Floral Skirt

I know that this weekend happened to be Labor Day weekend, which heralds in the fall season…but that doesn’t mean I’m abandoning bright colors just yet! I am still going to be embracing floral and pops of color in my outfits for the time being. After all, it’s still over 90 degrees here in Florida for a while longer!

There is something so happy and free about a swishy printed skirt like the one I’m wearing. Initially, I was drawn by the color and pattern – the bright purple, blue, and cream was oh so pretty. But when I put it on and realized the swingy, full nature of the cut, I was hooked. It was oh so girly, and is a nice contrast to the prim pencil skirts in my closet.

It didn’t hurt to have a pair of gilttery, pointy toed ballet flats in my wardrobe either. Ah, a perfect punch of color and glitz for the end of summer!

I also have to point out my handbag: it’s my trusty Dre Hartmann Cameron hobo – it’s a camera bag! I love that I can carry my DSLR around in style with this camera case: it protects my camera and lenses and still allows me space for personal items. Justin surprised me with this bag a little over a year ago, and I have really enjoyed carrying it around with me.

Blue button down shirt: Old Navy (previous season, similar here) // Camisole: American Eagle (previous season, similar here) // Floral skirt: Forever 21 (previous season, similar here) // Sunglasses: Ray Ban New Wayfarer // Glitter pointed flats: UNISA, purchased at T.J. Maxx (similar here) // Handbag: Dre Hartmann Cameron Hobo camera bag

Will you still be wearing bright colors after Labor Day?
