Another Pup Update

So, Theo’s surgery was last week, and yesterday he was able to have his stitches removed! Hooray! He is still walking very tenderly on his newly fixed leg, but hopefully over the next week or so he’ll start using it regularly again.

I’m sure that Theo is quite happy that he doesn’t have to wear his leg wrap and a cone around his head anymore. I couldn’t resist taking a few videos of him in all his peg leg glory…he looked like a little pirate!

He hates wearing a cone on his head. Seriously.

Now I need to take bets on how long it will take for the hair on his leg to grow back. His one bald leg is incredibly skinny and freaky looking in comparison to his 3 other fluffy ones!

Have you ever felt a little bad laughing at your pet while wearing a cone/cast/etc?

  • Oh my gosh, yes. When Sadie has a tumor on her chest (which is no laughing matter, of course! it was a huge tumor- almost hit the ground!, but we couldn’t operate just yet), but we put her in a baby onesie so that she wouldn’t feel that added pressure of the tumor just hanging there and I laughed because she wasn’t in pain and it was so cute. She was so pissy that she had to wear the onesie 🙂

  • Aw, bless his little heart!!! 🙁 He is so cute, even with his little peg leg! (and his walk was pretty funny, hehe!)

My mom and I were DYING laughing at our poor cat when she was fixed. She was so loopy from the medication that she was walking sideways and looked liked a drunk frat boy. We felt bad for laughing but it was SO funny!

  • Aw, poor pup! Glad to hear he’s doing better though 🙂

And I am totally guilty of laughing when my animals have had a cone on them. It’s just too amusing!
