Today I’m asking myself: where has the week gone!??! Last week, the days seemed to drag; it felt like Friday would never arrive. Perhaps the shortened week was the culprit. This week, however, I can see that it is Wednesday, but I feel like I have yet to accomplish what I set out to do on Monday. My schedule has been rather full, and it feels like I’m playing catch up constantly. I’m hoping I can get myself together by week’s end, at least! Caffeine, anyone???
Annnnyway, with the weather being so strange lately, my wardrobe doesn’t know what to do. Here in Florida, we’ve gone from weather in the 40s one day, to highs at almost 80 the next. I haven’t been able to do my typical winter clothing rotation; I have both short dresses and long pants being worn on different days of the week.
One thing I do love putting together from my closet is a mash up of my shorter, warm weather dresses with a pair of leggings and boots. This striped dress is a great example. I picked it up from (where else?) Marshalls back in June and was wearing it in sleeveless (and legging-less) style for months. With colder weather it still makes a great piece as well – just add a cardigan, a pair of leggings, and some boots! And of course, I can’t forget a statement necklace. My heart still pitter patters for this one. Like I said before: I’m finding any and all excuses to wear this one. Score one again for T.J. Maxx and their awesome jewelry selection!
Striped dress: Monteau, purchased at Marshalls (similar dress by the same brand at ModCloth) // Statement necklace: Lydell NYC, purchased at T.J. Maxx (similar at Baublebar) // Leggings: 90 degree by Reflex, purchased at Marshalls // Naharra boots: Sam Edelman, purchased at Nordstrom (similar by Steve Madden) // Philip Lim for Target yellow handbag: Target (similar by Vince Camuto)
Do you like to transform your warm weather dresses to cooler weather outfits?
That dress is super cute! I’ve been seeing similar ones for a while but I haven’t actually tried one on. So cute!
That necklace is soooo pretty, TJ Maxx always has great stuff, and I love how well it goes with the dress.

Very nice! I like the striped dress, the boots, and the necklace, and the outfit looks very pulled together overall. Even your pretty black tri dog looks nice!
