My Style

Striped Safari

About a year ago, my wardrobe was dominated by maxi dresses. I think I wore them every other day…at least! Over the past year, I’ve somehow managed to transition into separates quite a bit. However, every once in a while a gem of a maxi dress catches my eye.

Striped maxi dress

…like this red and navy striped number. I spotted it at the GAP a few months ago, and I’ve been wearing it practically once a week since that day. There is something so comfortable and great about a cotton dress. It even has pockets…score! I like that I can wear it around casually, but it also can be nice enough to take me to a dinner situation as well. I do have to break out the iron after I wash it though…I haven’t had to do that for clothing in quite some time it seems! What did I do before the days of wrinkle releaser? Seriously…

Phillip Lim for Target satchel

And of course, I have to mention my other new acquisition from the Phillip Lim for Target collection. I know most others were smitten with the Pashli look-alike bags and totes, but I was really drawn to this satchel instead. It is lightweight, roomy, and I love that it features handles I can hold or hook on my elbow, as well as a detachable shoulder strap. The brown was my color of choice over the black: I love the slight reddish-brown hue!

Are you still rocking the maxi dress, or have you moved over to separates lately?
