Sometimes a single item of clothing has the ability to be simultaneously simple and exciting. I couldn’t believe my luck when I stumbled upon this gorgeous maxi dress by Tart…in T.J. Maxx. My eyes bulged out a bit when I saw the tag: similar maxi dresses by Tart retail for over $200, many close to $300. The price tag on this little beauty? $39.99. Be still, my heart.
Even though it is simple to look at, the construction is beautiful. The neckline plunges just deep enough to be sexy but not vulgar. The ruched detailing on the top gives it some texture, and the material drapes on the body beautifully. I also love that the skirt is slightly gathered where it meets the top half of the dress, which really keeps the maxi from clinging (nobody wants VPL…)!
Maxi dress: Tart, purchased at T.J. Maxx, $39.99
Black and brown wedges: Coconuts, purchased at Marshalls, $19.99
Bracelets (L to R): Zebra bangle – Forever 21;
Interlocking hammered bangles – Forever 21;
Gold cuff bangle (gifted) – Sequin, Nordstrom;
Black resin bangle – Sequin, Nordstrom, similar found here
What do you think – do you sometimes like to just “keep it simple” with your wardrobe?
Honey, simple is definitely beautiful but you are absolutely gorgeous. 🙂
Oh, you are too sweet! Thank you for the kind words 🙂
I totally blame you for my recent addiction to TJ Maxx. I went twice last week!! I love you dress–I found a similar one, though not as high-end as Tart for $16.99! I’ll have to post about my trips soon because I’m a total convert now!
You look beautiful, as always 😉
Oh, I am so glad that you are now a fan of TJ Maxx and such (Marshalls and Home Goods…also guilty pleasures…). I totally want to see what you snagged there!
You look gorgeous, Katie!
I have been wanting a Tart dress for a really long time. I think if I’m going to try a maxi dress, they’re the way to go! I didn’t know TJ Maxx sold Tart, now I’ll have to go try to hunt one down!
After buying/wearing this dress, I want many more of them! The jersey material that Tart uses is SO nice…
I love Tart – they use the best jersey, it somehow feels luxurious. You find the best stuff at TJ Maxx – I must make a stop there soon!!
My thoughts exactly (re: the fabric)! It is so comfortable, yet still feels expensive/quality.
You look stunning– I love how chic and elegant this look is!
SCORE! And she wins again! Love it. Simple elegance is one of my favorite ways of dressing.
Such a lovely maxi dress! And an even more lovely price!
Love TJ Maxx too, we have one right next to a Home Goods about a half mile from our house.
This dress flatters you so well! You look lovely. The bracelets are a perfect touch.
Thanks so much for the kind words! 🙂
You really pull this neckline off! I want to try it. (it’s one great advantage to being an A-cup) 🙂
Aha! Agreed. I am definitely not blessed with chest, which makes me thankful when it comes to plunging necklines (yay for not looking vulgar)! However, I always think it is funny to shop for bras because I’m a C cup, yet (as you can see), I don’t have much going on up there…
GREAT dress!
You look smoking hot! 🙂
