Changing My Tune on Sneakers: Reebok Skyscape + a Giveaway

Do you have a pair of shoes perfect for your on the go tasks? In the past year or so, I’ve started to abandon some of my old footwear ways. Would I wear a pair of high heels to go grocery shopping or run errands? Yep. In a heartbeat. My footwear wardrobe consisted of mostly heels, with a few flats and a bunch of sandals mixed in. Since I live in Florida, flip flops are a staple pretty much year-round. In some cases, that is fantastic. However, they aren’t always the most practical or comfortable choice.

I’m going to admit something right now: I have never been much of a “sneaker” person. I have always owned a pair of shoes to wear to the gym, but that is the only place you’d ever catch me wearing them. In my mind, it’s a reasonable situation. Gym shoes can look a bit clunky, and they aren’t necessarily stylish. You can’t really pair them with a cute outfit for the day. But oh, wouldn’t it be convenient if you could? I have to say, after being introduced to the Reebok Skyskapes, I might be changing my tune. They are so lightweight and comfortable, you’ll forget you have them on!

First: let’s talk design and fit. The shoe is crafted borrowing the materials and soft molding process used to create lingerie! The Reebok Skyskape also features new technologies to support the foot and provide comfort for the entire day. I can attest to the comfort wholeheartedly – the outer fabric of the shoe is stretchy; after a long day of walking around, my feet inevitably swell. Normally, my right foot begins screaming in pain, as I have a bone that sticks out ever so slightly. It tends to rub against most shoes I own, so when I find a pair that doesn’t irritate it, I know I’ve found the right match. I’ll tell you what: at the end of the day when my feet are slightly tired and a bit swollen, the stretchy material the Skyskapes are made out of really do the trick. No pain for me, and that is the truth. Oh, and did I mention that the shoe only weighs FIVE ounces?!?! FIVE! They are light as air, and I can definitely appreciate that.

Of course, if I’m going to wear a pair of shoes, they need to be pretty to look at. Am I right? The Skyskapes have a slim fit to them. I can get self-conscious about how large my feet appear in certain shoes, but this pair doesn’t add girth to make your foot look clunky. Their style is versatile as well – I know I can pair them with a variety of on the go outfits for my weekends. They will serve me well when I hit the farmer’s market, take the dogs to the park, head to the grocery store, and more. As a teacher, I think these are a fun new addition to my wardrobe. I am on my feet throughout the day, so the comfort of the Skyskapes is top notch in comparison to some of my other, less comfortable, options. Plus: the girls have definitely taken notice of the neon pink color: you can’t miss it!

As if that wasn’t enough, do you know what else is really cool about the Reebok Skyscapes? They’re machine washable. I find that particular tidbit of information completely cool, as I never want to have a pair of dirty shoes. Being able to toss them in the washing machine is certainly a plus. All you have to do is remove the insole and laces (the insole can be washed in a delicate, cold water cycle with soap or detergent), and let the shoes air dry afterward.
