Polka Dot

What is it about polka dots? They make me smile; they are such a happy print! Don’t you agree? When the sun is shining outside, I find myself drawn to a fun circular print…

I love having comfortable cotton/jersey dresses in my closet to pull out before running around town. I’ve had friends comment that I always look dressed up (you usually won’t find me running errands in a tee shirt and shorts, or yoga pants, etc.). That is because dresses are so easy to throw on, and you look put together: win-win! I highly recommend purchasing a few easy, breezy dresses to add to your wardrobe. Even if I am sans-makeup and my hair is dirty, wearing a dress always helps me feel attractive!

Yellow handbag: Steve Madden, purchased at T.J. Maxx, $39.99, similar found here

So tell me: what is your go-to “around town” outfit?

  • My current “go around town” outfit is one of the three pairs of pants that still fits me, and whatever shirt I can find that is clean. I figure that I have an excuse not to look so cute when you’re as uncomfortably pregnant as me. 😛

Seriously, though. You always look so well-put-together and manage pieces from even the less-expensive stores so well. I should hire you to be a stylist (after I lose this baby weight, that is).

    • I think you have liscense to dress like a bum if you want to! Sorry to hear you’re uncomfortable though 🙁

And thank you for the kind words! If we’re ever in the same city, we’ll have to go bargain shopping together 😉 Spending lots of money isn’t always necessary when it comes to looking good! 🙂 Thank goodness…

  • So cute! I love your dress and yellow bag! I tend to run errands in a similar style. Light, casual dresses are so easy and comfortable. When I put on a dress, I feel instantly put together and I don’t have to think about coordinating separates. (Like you said, I definitely get a lot of comments about being overdressed though.) But like Tim Gunn says, ‘It’s always better to be overdressed, rather than underdressed!’

  • i like that the polka dots aren’t overwhelming, but really close together. Fun pattern!
I have a purple cotton American Apparel dress that I put almost most weekend for running around.

  • I do the same thing with dresses — throw them on and go! You’re right, it is an easy way to look put together. I get similar comments from friends about always looking dressed up!

  • Adorable dress! I need more dresses like that – I used to have a ton but over time have lost interest in them/they aren’t my style anymore and I really miss having a lot of options as far as just tossing on a dress.
