My Style

My lion shoes

Let’s be honest: today’s outfit is really all about the shoes.

Sometimes, you stumble upon a pair of shoes that give you pause. Are they pretty? Are they cute? Are they ugly? Are they quirky? As soon as I saw the Leon flats by Jeffrey Campbell, I was fascinated by them. I mean – there are lion heads on the toes!!!!

I’ll be honest: I first ordered these flats out of 100% curiosity. I saw them online at Nordstrom, was intrigued, and ended up ordering them so I could see the shoes in person. I thought they could possibly be the ugliest shoes in the world. But, guess what? I absolutely fell in love. They are definitely not for everyone; you don’t have to like them too. However, I do. I also have to mention that my mother saw a picture of them when I first purchased the shoes and thought I was crazy for buying them. When she saw them in person, she changed her mind!

The first time I wore the Leon flats in public (to the mall), I couldn’t even count the number of times I was stopped by others to inquire where I got my shoes from. They were definitely a conversation piece, and certainly solidified the fact that they were a good buy! They seriously make me smile.

Ruffle tee: purchased at T.J. Maxx (similar here) // Marisa shorts: Ann Taylor LOFT // Sunglasses: Ray Ban New Wayfarer // Colorblock Getaway tote: Jessica Simpson, purchased at T.J. Maxx (also at 6pm.com) // Animal print belt: purchased at Target // Lion flats: ‘Leon’ by Jeffrey Campbell, purchased at Nordstrom

Do you have a love for quirky shoes?
