Floral and Coral

Will wearing bright colors somehow summon spring/summer weather to arrive?

I’m not sure, but I’ve been trying. The temperatures this weekend were up slightly, but have since plummeted. Maybe there will be some beach weather next week? At least it was warm enough to wear shorts for a hot minute.

Shorts and long sleeves are one of my favorite ways to transition from winter to spring. My arms always tend to get colder than my legs, so it works out well. Except for the fact that these photos are very clearly pointing out the fact that I need some sun. My skin is practically transparent. Is anyone else feeling the same way right about now?

Espadrille Wedges

Annnnyway, the spring shopping bug has bitten me. One little essential I like for the warmer season is a nice pair of wedges. I snagged this classic pair of espadrilles at Marshalls last week for $30 and I couldn’t be happier about them. Wedges are so great to pump up your height slightly, but they still allow you to maintain balance when you walk. I could probably wear this pair for days on end with no complaints. Score!

  • I’m currently wearing the lightest color foundation in a collection and it is starting to look to dark for my skin! I need sun, but we still have several inches of snow here in MN.

I love the bright top and the neutral shoes.

    • Ugh, isn’t that the worst? I am very fearful that my makeup isn’t going to match for much longer. I will be happy if I have to move to a darker shade…but not lighter! 😉

  • We have SNOW on the ground…good grief! I cannot wait till it’s warm enough to wear shorts. You look adorable!

    • I remember the days of snow when we lived up north….yep….glad to be in Florida! I will think happy thoughts for shorts season to appear for you soon 😉

    • I think I remember those! It’s funny because I bought these shorts back when the designer collabs with Target weren’t a big deal (like, 2007ish), and I never really wore them until last year. What was I thinking by not wearing those?!?!

  • Thanks to a blog post you made on Weddingbee ages ago, I discovered Xen Tan! Belated thanks for that sunless tanning tip! Do you still use that brand or have you found something you like better???

    • I’m glad I could help! 🙂 I haven’t used it in a while actually, but I still like the product! I work from home, and I guess the fact that no one usually sees me (and it hasn’t been shorts weather in a while) has made me feel comfortable in my paleness…until I see a picture of my legs like in this post! Yeesh…maybe I need to break out the Xen Tan again!!!
