Equestrian style

I love boots. Unfortunately, when you live in Florida there aren’t as many opportunities to wear them as there would be in colder climates. So, when the temperatures dropped recently, I had to take advantage…

When it comes to a knee high boot like these, slim fit pants are a must. In that case, balance/proportion is always a consideration. Pairing the more snug fitting bottoms with blousy chiffon top keeps the look modest and daytime appropriate.

I found these riding pants at GAP recently for quite a steal: I love the equestrian look. The suede panels take me back to the days when I actually did take riding lessons…until my horse threw me during one of them. I know they say to get back up on the horse, but I was a little bit scared after that and had to take a break. However, the fear has subsided over time, so that is good! Justin and I recently bought a deal for a local stable for some riding time; I’m looking forward to scheduling it!

Chiffon blouse: GAP, $35

Lace camisole: Mossimo, purchased at Target, $7.99

Riding pants: GAP, purchased on sale $22.75

Boots: Naharra boot by Sam Edelman, purchased at Nordstrom, on sale at Endless for $149.90

Envelope clutch: Pyramid Metal Tip Clutch, ASOS, $27.27

Gold bracelets: similar here and here

Are you a fan of boots? What is your favorite way to wear them?

  • Love this look! I like wearing boots with tights and skirts during these winter months in DC. It’s a great way to stay warm AND chic. 🙂

  • I am debating getting a pair of these boots I found but can only buy them online, I love them but am afraid the heel is too high. Are they comfortable and OK to wear for hours? It seems impossible to find an affordable pair of equestrian boots with heels between 1-2″

    • Tina: I absolutely love these boots! I actually own them in brown and in black. I find them very comfortable to wear all day…but I mean…I wouldn’t go hiking in them or anything! 😉 I actually had to order a whole size down for them. 99% of the time I wear a 7.5, but I actually have a size 6.5 in these boots, so keep that in mind if you do order them!
