A summer dress for fall

Finally! Finally…it is time to start transitioning to fall clothing here in Florida. There is actually a bit of a nip in the air some days, and I am loving it.

However, it is not yet time to pull on jackets, long pants, and boots. This is the time of the year I think about how I can make my summer clothing work for the fall weather. When I spotted this summer dress at LOFT earlier in the year, I knew it would be a great piece for the hotter months (the material is light and breezy), but could also be utilized when covered up. For this look, I simply removed the sash belt from my dress and used it to cinch the waist around my animal print cardigan. Easy peasy! Add a pair of heels and a clutch, and it was time to head out to an al fresco dinner with Justin!

I am seriously going to attempt to take advantage of any and all opportunities to eat outside at the moment. We have been able to open up our sliding glass doors in the living room to open our house up to the lanai (the screened in porch). Having the breeze flow through the living room has been wonderful lately. THIS is the time of the year that I truly love living in the Sunshine State. Just saying…

  • Funny you posted this – I am staring at my closet with horrid looks. Nothing is working for me. It’s too cold for the sweaters and I do not want to wear summer clothes anymore. I’ve been pairing some of my summer dresses w/ cardigans 🙂
