I’m going to throw it out there: I…LOVE…SRIRACHA! If you don’t have a bottle of it in your kitchen right now, I implore you: GO GET ONE! I could wax poetic regarding how much I adore this condiment, but instead I thought I’d share one of my new favorite recipes that incorporates it: Sriracha glazed chicken stir fry
So, what does it involve?
Chicken, onions, and curry powder…
Some delicious mixed vegetables…
And a sriracha/hoisin sauce/ketchup glaze that makes my tastebuds SING.
I serve the stir fry over sticky rice (because its the best kind of rice out there). Then, I attempt to not eat the entire wok full of stir fry in one sitting. Because that would be…delicious, but wrong.
- 6 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2.5 tsp sriracha sauce
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- 1.5 tbsp minced fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1.5 tsp curry powder
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups cauliflower florets
- 1 can (8oz) water chestnuts, sliced
- Combine hoisin, ketchup, and sriracha in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok (or large nonstick skillet) over medium-high heat.
- Add onion. Saute about 3 minutes, until tender.
- Add chicken, ginger, garlic, and curry powder. Saute 6 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
- While chicken is cooking, lightly steam broccoli and cauliflower in the microwave (about 3 minutes).
- Add broccoli and cauliflower to chicken and onions in the wok/skillet. Stir in hoisin mixture; cook 2 minutes, tossing to coat.
- Serve over rice. Enjoy!
As for the vegetables in the stir fry, you can mix and match with whatever is fresh, or whatever you have in your refrigerator. Red bell pepper, bean sprouts, snap peas, and carrots have been incorporated to this dish at some point or another in my kitchen. Adjust to whatever makes you happy!
Does anyone else out there have a huge crush on sriracha like I do? Do you have any favorite recipes incorporating this lovely condiment?
That looks goooooood. I love stir fry but the bald one…does not. However, this sounds a bit spicy, so he’d more than likely eat it. Yay!
This looks DELISH! I love cooking Asian food at home. It’s SO easy! We got a sweet wok for a wedding gift and I try to break it out once a week. I’ve never cooked with sriracha, but I’m totally going to go buy some!
This looks so good. Making it tonight!
Uh oh, looks like I might need to buy a wok!
ooh that looks yummy and easy, i’m going to have to try that!
Wow! This can be 1 of the top blogs I’ve actually arrive throughout on this subject. Merely Magnificent
