So…last week I bid farewell to sweater weather here in Florida. I am completely elated to welcome one of my favorite times of the year! Spring in Florida is warm, but it is also the season before the humidity fully kicks in. Our temperatures will be in the high 70s/low 80s, and I will be in heaven.
This time of the year is seriously one of my favorites when it comes to my wardrobe. I am a huge fan of pairing shorts or a skirt as bottoms, along with a 3/4 or long sleeve top. It’s the best of both worlds, in my opinion! I tend to look for breezy, light tops when it comes to my sleeves, as utilizing winter wear can still be a bit stuffier of an option. I picked up this grey and white striped tee at Marshalls a while back (has it been a year? It’s possible), and boy oh boy has it had a generous amount of wear. It’s a staple in my wardrobe, and I wish I had a closet full of them. Leave it to Marshalls to always serve me well when it comes to the basics – I am never at a loss for awesome casual tops to add to my collection.
And it never hurts when you are able to go casual for the day. I am not ready to walk the runway in this outfit, but I can conquer pretty much any task around town in it. Perhaps I tend to be tired of getting dressed up after a week at work, or perhaps I am just adapting to a more dressed down style overall. I’ve been embracing the beauty of casual clothing more and more lately…especially on the weekends.
Do you pair long sleeves and shorts in the spring/summer time?
Striped v-neck: purchased at Marshalls // Mint 6″ shorts: LOFT (previous season: current colors here) // Handbag: Urban Expressions (similar at DSW) // Shoes: c/o Reebok Skyskape
Funny – I also have the same pink Reebok Skyscapes 🙂 Quite possibly the most comfy sneakers on the face of this planet. I got a few pairs of shorts this weekend but haven’t transitioned into them yet. I look like an extra from Twilight!
