Argyle

I’m a fan of argyle. It’s such a great mixture of preppy with a hint of “grandma chic…” if done properly of course!

This “grandpa” cardigan has been a part of my wardrobe for a few years now. I picked it up on clearance from J. Crew at the end of a winter season, and I only seem to get a chance to wear it a few times a year (living in Florida will do that to you).

To make the look a bit more youthful, I decided to add a pop of color underneath, as well as my new favorite accessory: my bubble necklace! I have been wearing it constantly; I hadn’t expected it to be so versatile, but I find myself pairing it with SO many outfits.

Argyle cardigan: purchased on sale from J. Crew (previous season)

Pima cotton tee: Banana Republic

Riding pants: GAP, purchased on sale $22.75

Boots: Naharra boot by Sam Edelman, purchased at Nordstrom, on sale at Endless for $149.90

Bubble necklace: J. Crew (purchased on Ebay)

Flower earrings: kate spade, purchaed at T.J. Maxx, $19.99

Studded handbag: purchased at T.J. Maxx, $29.99

Are you a fan of argyle? What’s your favorite way to incorporate it into your outfits?

  • I love argyle, but I can never seem to find the right piece for me. I think it makes me look like a little boy. As a stick figure, petite, boyish looking gal… it can do that. I love the way you girlied up the look with the necklace though.

  • I love argyle! I have a hard time finding cute argyle that isn’t TOO grandma-ish, but I have a couple of pieces that I really like!

    • Thanks so much for the kind words Alexi! I love finding new blogs through comments on other sites like that! 🙂 I’m glad that my comment was helpful in some way!
