As I was perusing my calender recently, it became quite clear to me: December is just a few short weeks away. And…in the month of December it just so happens that my little brother is getting married.
…that means I’m going to need a dress. The special occasion dresses I have in my closet are pretty much all for spring/summer wear, so a mid-December wedding doesn’t seem to align with them. Thankfully, the holiday dresses are popping up in stores everywhere, so I should have a bit of a selection at least. Of course, I’m having a hard time making up my mind on what I want to wear. The wedding is just a few days before Christmas, so a holiday-type dress would probably be appropriate. However, I am hemming and hawing on whether I should get a more “practical” dress instead. It really could go either way. The wedding is here in Florida, so it won’t be overly cold; I will most likely be comfortable in a knee length dress. Sleeves aren’t a necessity either, as I could pair a sleeveless dress with a nice sweater or light jacket for the ceremony (I happen to have a gorgeous gold Tahari jacket that would be perfect for the occasion if needed). So, the options abound! Right now, here is a selection of the dresses I’ve had my eyes on.
Which would you choose?

Great selection of dresses. I think I would go with a pop of color unless it’s a more formal wedding? The gold jacket would work well with red or black.
It’s not super formal. Of course, the colors happen to be red and black…so it kind of puts me in this “do I wear red or black or am I supposed to wear a different color” question as well. But…how do you not wear black? Haha…I think I just go for it either way.
I LOVE all of the dresses that include lace! 🙂
Thanks Sandie! I do have a love for the lace as well. I just can’t decide…
I think you would look great in number 2!
I would probably stay away from the red. Looks too Christmas party. I think a colour like maroon or dark green would be pretty. Or royal or navy blue!! I like 6 and 9 the best here.
I love number 8!!!! How is his wedding already coming up, I feel like you just told me he was proposing. Yeesh. 2013 flew by.
