Life Well Lived: Looking Your Best

The question is: What are your favorite tips and tricks for framing and showing off your beautiful face?

I could probably go on for quite some time with ideas on how to answer this question, but instead of droning on, I’ll provide you all with a bit of a round up!

*Now that my hair is long enough to fit in a ponytail properly, I love figuring out new ways to jazz up the simple style. Say Yes to Hoboken recently posted 10 ways to dress up your ponytail. I’m personally a fan of braiding up the back…and I’m trying to figure out how to do it myself! A Cup of Jo also has a tutorial for a chestnut bun that is absolutely beautiful! There is also the classic go-to: the Gibson Tuck, which I’ve showed you previously!

*Getting some bangs are also a great way to frame your face differently. When the winter months roll around, I sometimes get scissor happy (the summer months in Florida are so hot that I can’t fathom having bangs plastered to my forehead). Maybe in a few months you’ll see me sporting them again…

*When it comes to makeup, there are a few techniques I’ve been fond of lately. Have you tried the eyeliner trick using Scotch tape? Do it…so so easy! And for eye shadow, I’ve been enamored with this ombre eye using plums and coppers. Beautiful!

*Finally, there are the basic beauty products that I use on a daily basis to frame my face. They include Bobbi Brown’s apricot blush (it looks shockingly pink, but when applied to your face it is definitely not very bright and is a beautiful hue), Smashbox’s Photo Op under eye brightener (no dark circles for me), and Benefit’s High Beam complexion enhancer when I want a bright, glowy sheen every once in a while!
