If anyone is looking for a gift to give me, I think I may have a suggestion…
I was recently introduced to the International Wine of the Month Club, and so far I am loving what I’ve experienced. It’s the gift that keeps giving: a delivery of two amazing bottles of wine at your doorstep each month. Club members can choose between three different “series” according to price level, and can opt to receive two bottles of red, one bottle of red and one bottle of white, or (for the Premier Series only) two bottles of white. The International Wine of the Month Club offered to send me a red and white combo from their Premier Series, and I was eager to experience them both!
Today: the white. I received a bottle of Yali Sauvignon Blanc (2012). As soon as I read the tasting notes, I knew it would be right up my alley. This wine happens to be a Sauvignon Blanc from Chile. When my glass was poured, the hue was just as light and fresh as the flavors themselves. The taste of melons, figs, and herbs came through as I enjoyed each and every sip. This wine is definitely delicate in nature, and would be a perfect pairing with seafood, as it would not overpower fish’s lightness. I would imagine sushi would be another amazing compliment to this wine, as well as an Asian stir fry with a bit of a spicy kick.
I definitely am a fan of the Yali Sauvignon Blanc, and wish I had a few more bottles in my house to enjoy (thankfully, club members can purchase additional bottles through the wine club’s website if you find a selection you desire more of). A membership subscription to the club would make a fantastic gift, especially for those people who are tough to buy for. You can select to receive shipments of wine monthly, every other month, or quarterly. I love that I could select the delivery schedule to suit my budget. And if wine isn’t up your alley, there is also a Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club, a Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club (I really want to try this one too…wine AND cheese, anyone?), a Gourmet Chocolate of the Month Club, a Premium Cigar of the Month Club, and a Fresh Cut Flower of the Month Club. There’s definitely something for everyone in this mix, if you ask me…

I actually gifted a wine-of-the-month to my parents for their 25th anniversary. We did the 6-month red/white package, because my mom likes whites and my dad prefers reds. They absolutely loved it, and it was an easy gift “that kept on giving” 🙂
