When we visited New York City, I had every intention of documenting my outfits during our stay. Having new and exciting scenery was definitely a draw, and since I was packing some of my favorite attire for the BlogHer conference, there were definitely some awesome items I wanted to share.
Ah, the best laid plans. Justin and I trekked down to street level to snap a few pictures on the first day of the conference, and after this point…I didn’t bother. At least I was able to document one of my favorite new dresses!
I absolutely LOVE Antonio Melani dresses. They are consistently well-made, have fun styles/colors, and the sales I stumble upon at Dillards are killer! I picked up the Nellanne Ruffe Dress on clearance…score! The combination of ruffles and pleats really seemed perfect for me; I had to have it!
The bustle of New York City definitely gave Justin a challenge when it came to snapping photos of this particular outfit. People were constantly walking by, which was certainly a distraction. And talk about feeling slightly self-conscious! I knew there were a few puzzled expressions shooting my way. Oh well! Carry on!
I kept the details of my outfit relatively simple for this occasion: attending a convention where I was shaking hands, writing, and typing meant that I didn’t want a lot of bulk hanging out on my wrists. So, one bracelet and a pair of killer heels were all I needed!
Antonio Melani Nellanne Ruffle Dress: Dillards (on sale for $59.15 currently!) // Animal print heels: Carol, via ShoeMint // Bow bangle: Target (similar here) // Cream clutch: purchased at T.J. Maxx (similar here)
Do you like to wear some girly ruffles or pleats every once in a while?
I love that dress! The ruffles are so pretty – and the color is perfect!
Thanks! The color was definitely the first draw when I saw it on the rack!
Stunning bow bangle, it really pops!
Love that dress…so cute!

Thanks! Darn you, Dillards, for your really great sales…
Great dress! I would post my outfits way more often if I didn’t live in the middle of a crowded city. I always get strange stares when my husband is photographing me. I went to Napa this weekend and it was so nice to have him snap pictures without tons of people walking by and staring!
I totally hear you! 😉 I just ignored the people and kept going, but it is DEFINITELY easier to get things done when there aren’t tons of people moving around in the background!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the girly dress! Saw you on the link up at Real Girl Style Link
Thanks so much! Every once in a while I’ve got to get in touch with my girly side!
I love that dress! I may have to take a trip to Dillards!
Their sale section is always reallllly good!
Such a great dress! You are brave to trek around the city in those heels–I wouldn’t last five minutes!

Oh, walking to dinner was enough of a walk for me in those! I wasn’t going to far, thankfully. But I tell you, I walked more in NYC than I probably do in a month at home…haha!
Cute dress! That color looks amazing on you!!
Great outfit! Love that dress and it is so perfect with the animal print shoe! 😉
Lovely outfit…such a successful choice for your conference.
Your dress is gorgeous and looks great on you…also perfect for the city. Hope you had a great time.
Thanks so much, Sammie!
