Bold Black and Burgundy

Happy Friday, everyone! I thought I’d kick off the weekend with a bold black and burgundy color pairing. Plus, a printed tank I am truly digging right now.

Black and burgundy/black and red is one of those color combinations that your see paired quite often, but I have to admit: I don’t do it very often nowadays. Back in college, my sorority’s colors were (well…ARE…if you want to be technical about it) black and red, so you can imagine I got my fill of it during those four years. Every time I see black and red, it brings back memories. Good ones, of course! I have a fantastic group of sisters, and I wish we all lived close enough to one another to hang out regularly like in the old days. We’re pretty much spread out throughout the country (and some are international) at this point. I guess that is what happens when you grow older. Oh, to be 21 again! I kid, I kid…

Anyway, I decided to add burgundy as more of an accent color through my accessories, rather than wear it all over with my outfit. My new Burning Blaze Necklace from JewelMint seemed like a good pairing with this awesome abstract/tribal print tank from Denimianco Boutique. In the Florida summer heat, it is nice to have a breezy tank top, and I love the length of this one – long enough to wear with leggings like I am today but not SO long that you can’t pair it with other combinations (tuck it into a pencil skirt, top it with a cardigan or jacket, etc.).

Abstract print tank: c/o Denimianco Boutique // Leggings: purchased at T.J. Maxx // Burning Blaze Necklace: JewelMint // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban New Wayfarer // Burgundy envelope clutch: ASOS (previous season, similar here) // Wedge heels: Jessica Simpson, purchased at T.J. Maxx (very similar here and here – under $50 each! And this pair is almost exactly the same, but is current season)

Do you like pairing black and burgundy/black and red together in outfits?
