In the past two weeks, there haven’t been a lot of noteworthy outfits to share. My wardrobe has mainly consisted of ratty old shorts and tee shirts…splattered with a bit of paint. But even though I’ve been looking scrubby, every once in a while it’s nice to dress up a little bit. You know, to remind myself that I can look like a put together human being.
Seriously though: I went almost an entire week without doing my hair or makeup (I did shower, of course). Is that a record? I was too tired and busy to really deal with those details. It happens.
Ah, but here is a bit of proof that I did manage to get it together at least once.
Dotted blazer: Ann Taylor LOFT (similar here) // Ruffled tank: purchased at Target // Cropped jeans: GAP Outlet // Envelope clutch: ASOS (similar here – only $14!) // Nude Mary Jane heels: Vince Camuto “Jasper,” purchased at Nordstrom (similar here)
I don’t own a lot of blazers/jackets, but I am in love with this spotted slouchy one I scored at LOFT a little while back. I enjoy the punch of print – it brings a bit of fun to something that is usually a bit more formal in style. Plus: it’s a nice light jacket to throw on during this time of year (it is still in the 70s here in Florida).
Do you have a lot of blazers/jackets in your wardrobe?
I am dying for a blazer! I’ve wanted one for years but have never found one I really like. There’s one at Target right now that I really love, and I may just have to pick it up!
I have a hard time shopping for blazers as well. They either fit funky or look too stuffy…and I’m too cheap to get them tailored. I got lucky with this one…the slouchy style of it kind of worked out well!
Such a polished look that would be good for the office or a night out. I love those shoes, I think I might have to put Mary Jane’s on my Christmas list.
I was worried that wearing a pair of Mary Jane shoes would make me look like a little girl, but there are so many grown up options out there too!
