As you might have noticed, last weekend marked one year of marriage for Justin and me. As much as I would have loved to take a weekend trip away, it just wasn’t in the cards (still waiting on that honeymoon…). However, we did have a few fun things planned.
We started with a lovely dinner at Season’s 52 on Friday night. In case you were wondering, I finally was able to take my “sexy” blue dress for a spin…and I completely forgot to take photos. Blast. But trust me: it looked fabulous.
Season’s 52 was amazing (as usual): they even greeted us at our table with a champagne toast for our anniversary!
I think I could eat dinner at Season’s 52 every night…especially if it involves the roasted artichoke and goat cheese flatbread (my dinner) or a cedar plank salmon (Justin’s dinner).
We managed to save a little room in our tummies for some cake…some gorgeous, beautiful cake. The baker from our wedding last year made us a small replica to enjoy (we ate our topper a month after the wedding) and it was oh so very amazing. Chocolate cake with Kahlua creme, buttercream frosting, and white chocolate fondant. Drool.
Even though it was a small cake, we ate it on Friday…as a Saturday afternoon snack…on Sunday…and again on Monday. I ended up freezing about 1/3 of the cake because I couldn’t stand the thought of it going stale. In a month from now when I’m craving some cake, I know where to go…
On Saturday, Justin and I ran a few errands around town and then met up with my parents for another celebration. We had dinner at Flamestone Grill, which had to include s’mores for dessert! Mmm.
On Sunday, we woke up early for an expedition to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. I am going to save those pictures for another post, because they are going to slay you with cuteness. However, until then…I’ll give you a sneak peek at the little guy who completely stole my heart (other than my husband, of course):
What activities do you like to do to celebrate an anniversary?
I have YET to try Seasons 52. I just have to soon! My brother found a gift card for $50 that his boss game him for Christmas and he gave it to me, saying he’d never go, but by the time he gave it to me, it was expired! *cries*
Happy Anniversary! It looks like you had a great time – and that cake looks fantastic!
That flatbread looks SOOOO good.
Looks like such a fun weekend! Happy Anniversary
Happy anniversary. Time flies doesn’t it? I can’t believe it’s been a year already. I think we’ll be doing a fun, fancy dinner out where I get to wear a fancy dress. yay!
It looks like you had a fantastic anniversary weekend! I really REALLY want to take a trip for ours, but I don’t think it’s in the cards, either. That cake looks delish!
Happy anniversary!! What a yummy way to celebrate! I still can’t believe it’s been a year for all of us! So crazy how time flies!
Sounds like a wonderful way to spend your anniversary weekend! So glad that you were able to wear that sassy blue number so soon, too! And.. the cake looks phenomenal. I’ll totally eat that last 1/3 if you don’t want it 😉
Happy (belated) first anniversary! So glad you had an excuse to wear that amazing dress!
Happy Anniversary! 🙂
