Everything Else

What is your order?

I know you might be aware of my penchant for routines when it comes to the start of my day. I’d like to say that is where it ends, but I’d be lying. I was thinking about this yesterday: at  your “regular” restaurants, do you tend to order the same thing, or do you like to switch it up? What’s your order?

As if you hadn’t already guessed, my order is usually the same. When I find something I like, I stick to it.

Prime example: Chipotle. Every time I visit, you can be almost 100% sure that you’ll see this in front of me:

My order:

  • salad, no dressing
  • 1/2 scoop of rice
  • black beans
  • fajita peppers and onions
  • chicken
  • fresh tomato salsa
  • roasted chili-corn salsa
  • guacamole

Yum yum yum. I always contemplate ordering something different…perhaps some tacos, a burrito, or even just switching up the meat (carnitas, or maybe just going vegetarian). However, I always go with the old standby. It is just that good to me; I can’t help myself. And as much as Justin USUALLY likes to order different menu items at a restaurant, he always goes for the same choices at Chipotle. Even though their menu is simplistic, there are so many different combinations/possibilities. I’d like to think that your order says something about your personality. What it says about mine…I have no idea.

So now I’m curious: what’s YOUR order at Chipotle? Do you always ask for the same ingredients?

  • I’ve never been to a chipotle – never been somewhere where they are. But I tend to switch it up sometimes. At most of my ‘regular’ restaurants, I have 2 or 3 things I tend to choose between and occasionally I will feel crazy and go with something totally different. I’ve been burned by that a few times though, and it’s so disappointing when you go to a restaurant you love and the food you order is just ‘meh’. Mr. N finds one thing he likes and orders that every time.

    • Oh man, life without Chipotle! Can’t…compute…haha! Actually, when we lived in VA there wasn’t a Chipotle nearby and it kind of made me sad inside. But we survived.

I totally know what you mean about getting burned! I am so afraid to stray from my established “favorite” order…I’ve done it a few times and then found myself wishing I’d asked for my usual. Regrets…

  • I tend to stick with my favorites, especially at a place like chipotle. I always order a burrito bowl with rice, black beans, chicken, tomato salsa, corn salsa, green tomatillo salsa (clearly I love salsa), and lettuce. Sometimes, if I feel like being different, I’ll add cheese.

  • Oh Chiptloe…my love! I OBSESS over Chipotle sometimes. My order is as follows:

    **Vegetarian Burrito Bowl**
    Rice
    Black Beans
    Roasted Chili-Corn Salsa
    Cheese
    Lettuce
    Guacamole

Oh man….now I’m CRAVING it! But I’m up in northern NH with no Chipotle in sight! 🙁

  • Yummmm…my favorite. Also, fun idea asking readers what they order!

    Steak Fajita Burrito
    Extra rice
    No beans
    Mild Salsa
    Corn Salsa
    Cheese
    Lettuce

Guacamole on the side with a bag of semi-stale chips. I’m sorry Chipotle, I love you but your chips are almost always stale.

  • I always order the same thing at Chipotle, too! My order is a lot like Jill’s.

    Chicken burrito
    Extra rice
    No beans
    Extra mild salsa
A little bit of medium salsa
    Cheese
    Sour Cream
    &
    Blackberry Izze to drink

Since getting pregnant, I’ve craved Chipotle like no other!

  • YUM! I so love Chipotle! I order the same thing every time:

    Vegetarian Bowl w/ Extra Rice
    Black Beans
    Fresh Tomato Salsa
    Green Chile Salsa
    Cheese
    Sour Cream
    Guacamole

I get a tortilla on the side because my husband always wants mine. 😉 Oh man, now I’m STARVING and I’ve got an hour and a half ’til lunch…might have to sneak out a little early…

  • I ALWAYS order the same thing at Chipotle – “burrito bowl to go, rice, vegetarian (but no peppers and onions, please!!), black beans, tomato salsa, corn salsa, a little bit of sour cream, a little bit of cheese, lettuce, guac.”

    Mmmmmm….

  • I’m in Canada; no Chipotle here, either.

Every Friday my DH and I have Thai takeout. We always get the same thing: Rice vermicelli with yummy beef and spring rolls. And some salt and chile pepper calamari on the side.

  • mmmm – chipotle. i do believe i now have dinner plans 😉

    i’m pretty predictable myself:
burrito bowl – 1/2 scoop rice, vegetarian, black beans, TONS of corn salsa (they always think i’m crazy i get so much of it), medium salsa on the side

    so so good! ♥

  • Oh my goodness, I LOVE Chipotle. I get the same thing every time, although recently I’ve been thinking about switching to a vegetarian bowl instead. But my order is a burrito bowl, rice, no beans, fajita veggies, carnitas, mild salsa, corn salsa, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce. Occasionally with guac! I’ve been craving it for days, and this didn’t help! 😉

    • I think I might switch to a vegetarian salad next time too! I think the guacamole is included that way…might save myself a few bucks… 😉

  • Mmmm Chipotle… or as we call it in my house, Chipoodle.
I always get a salad (no dressing) with a little bit of rice, chicken or steak (depending on which meat I haven’t had much of lately), mild & medium salsa, corn and a little bit of sour cream. Om nom nom.

  • Mmm…Chipotle….
I am a creature of habit and typically order the same thing..chicken burrito bowl with rice, black beans, mild and medium salsa, lettuce and guac…sometimes when I feel really daring…I get the same thing wrapped up in a burrito (I know..watch out…living on the edge!)

  • Chipotle is my happy place so I’m always so glad when people love it as much as I do!

I sometimes order veggie bowls but typically my staple is:

    Chicken Burrito
White Rice- has anyone tried the brown rice? Do you have that option other places? It’s pretty new, I think.
    Black Beans
    Corn salsa
    Green salsa
Sour Cream -I’ve been trying to cut out cheese so only 1 dairy please!

I might have to get this for lunch. Thanks a lot Kate 😉

  • Mmm I love Chipotle! At a place like Chipotle (or any fast food type restaurant) I always get the exact same thing. At “real” restaurants I’ll usually switch it up a bit, though!

  • I order the same thing at Chipotle every time! Mine is the chicken burrito with black beans, rice, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and fresh tomatoes. Yummmm. I also always get the drink that tastes like Dr. Pepper but it has a different name.

  • I almost always get the same thing every time I go to a restaurant. I always figure, it was so good last time, I don’t want to risk getting something different if it might not be as good as the first thing I had!

I’ve only been to Chipotle once though (it was so good, I need to go back), but I can’t for the life of me remember what I had.

  • My husband usually orders what he want and we split it. We either get a carnitas or barbacoa burrito with black beans, extra rice, hot and corn salsa, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. He is the creature of habit in our family. I like to try a bunch of different things at places. For him, I can guarantee if the restaurant has a buffalo chicken wrap on their menu, he will order it.

  • I also always get the same thing and it’s your exact order! Except I always order the chicken burrito bowl. Half rice. With guacamole. I think the only diff between my order and yours is that my lettuce is on top! Maybe I’ll try it your way next time… For variety 😉

  • I’m so jealous! We don’t have Chipotle in south jersey! There are a couple of knock offs (Moe’s & Chido Burrito) but not the real thing. I went to one once while visiting a friend in DC and it was fantastic! I think I had a burrito… I tend to stick with the same things at restaurants and only vary if I like EVERYTHING about a different option. Like green peppers are totally a deal breaker, lol.

    • When Justin and I lived in VA for about a year, there was no Chipotle nearby and I was super depressed about it. Moe’s isn’t bad by any means, but it just isn’t the same, you know?
