I’ve professed my love for peplum before, but alas, I have not always been successful at finding pieces that work perfectly in my wardrobe. Every time I see a peplum top or dress, I am compelled to try it on…just in case! For some reason, I always seem to strike out.
Until recently. I was perusing the racks at my local T.J. Maxx when my eyes fell upon this two toned peplum sweater/jacket. It was love at first sight, and once I tried it on for size it had to come home to live in my closet (and for only $19.99 it was seriously affordable). T.J. Maxx, you come through for me once again.
A lot of the times, peplum gives off a really feminine flair, but in this case I think the jacket gives off some sophisticated style as well.
I decided to pair this peplum with jeans and patterned heels, but to make the look office appropriate I could definitely don a black pencil skirt or trousers. I could also see it being perfect on top of a simple black shift dress. I love that the cardigan/jacket can be worn in a number of ways!

I have a tough time finding peplum that works on me too…I am long torso’d so it is challenging..

I am right there with you on the long torso issue!!! Even though I’m short, I have a hard time finding shirts that are suitably long enough on me a lot of times! I don’t like it if I lift my arms and my stomach is exposed!
