My Style

Peplum and Pencil Skirts (plus a giveaway!)

Today I’m donning two styles I find to be oh so ladylike: peplum with a pencil skirt.

I’m not ready for the peplum trend to go away just yet – there is something so fun and flattering about the cut. Tops, skirts, dresses – I want them all with a bit of peplum! With this tank, it cinches in at the waist and helps create an hourglass shape – perfect for a girl like me who would like to create the illusion of a few curves.

And a pencil skirt – can you ever go wrong? They are such a classic wardrobe piece, but I love when I find one that can be dressed up OR down. That is definitely the case with this skirt from Denimianco Boutique. It is a “one size fits most” style, which means that there is a nice bit of stretch involved! It wears like a pair of comfy yoga pants…but in skirt form. I am a fan of the texture of the skirt – the pleating/ruching is a nice touch for some added interest. The skirt sits high on the waist for me, so you could definitely wear it that way, or cover the top part with a tank or blouse like I did in my outfit today. I would be happy to wear this skirt “dressed up” like I am now…but I know I’ll be sporting it with a more casual tee and flats as well.
