Christmas Holiday

Our Home for the Holidays

Today, I thought I’d give you all a little peek into our cozy little home. Although I wouldn’t say Justin and I go all out for Christmas decor, we definitely wanted to take things up a notch and make our apartment merry and bright! I can’t wait until we have more space (and more storage) so that I can do even more in the coming years…

First (of course): our Christmas tree.

Justin found this flocked beauty online, and I could not be happier with the purchase. It is bedecked with woodland creatures, pinecones, and the like. It makes me happy each and every morning/evening when I plug the lights in. I know I won’t want to take it down when Christmas is over.

Oh, and the large canvas print of our little “Santa Paws?” I smile each time I look at it.

Next: our coffee table.

I decided to spruce it up a bit with a mini table runner I found at Target (isn’t it cute?). I already had the three red pillar candles on hand (they usually are on our dining room table), so I positioned them in the center along with two candy apple red reindeer that I scored from Home Goods.

Around the holidays, it also doesn’t hurt that we have a red couch…it’s kind of festive on it’s own!

On to the dining room table. This one was very simple and easy to create!

I purchased this Neutral Mum table runner from Target to drape across the tabletop. I love that it can work for the holiday season, but it will also look great throughout the year! Of course, the snowdrift candle holders I showed you yesterday had to line it as well! In between each candle holder, I simply placed a champagne glass garnished with a sprig of rosemary (if I had a real Christmas tree, I would have clipped sprigs from that, but rosemary looks and smells great as a substitute)! Simple, easy, pretty! Done!

I’ll definitely be keeping this setup on my table through the new year…since it is more of a “winter” theme than Christmas, I like that I can keep it in place for a while!

Oh, and did you see the miniature cake plate on the table? Isn’t it cute? It was housing a miniature carrot cake with coconut…yum!

I hung a few stockings around the shelves and cabinets in the dining area…just to add a little something extra!

Moseying on to our wine cabinet. I had to give it a little holiday sparkle as well!

I filled some wine glasses and vases with miniature ornaments (from the dollar store), as well as a few odds and ends that I’ve picked up over the years. However, my favorite little decoration is clearly my Santa clothesline! My mom picked this adorable little trinket up at Home Goods, and I absolutely LOVE all of Santa’s clothes hung out on the line. The top of two wine bottles were also a perfect set of hooks to string them on!

So, that’s about it! Our simple (yet hopefully effective) holiday decor has been such a joy to me in the past few weeks.

Do you go all out with your holiday decor, or do you prefer to keep it simple? What is your favorite decoration to put up in your home?
