Julep Nail Color: Tracy

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July!

Today I thought I’d quickly share one of the new nail polishes in my collection: it’s called Tracy, and it was a part of the It Girl box from Julep Maven in July.

Julep Tracy

It seemed like the perfect polish to wear for the holiday…it has a sparkly sheen to it, and the ocean blue hue is eye catching but not overwhelming. It has a “sea salt” type finish as well, which means that the polish isn’t exactly smooth when it dries. There is a slight texture to the finished polish, which is a little bit different to get used to at first (I kept running my fingers over my nails), but I have found myself quite fond of the overall look it gives my nails.

If you aren’t familiar with Julep polishes, they are formaldehyde free. I have found them to be fast drying, and the pigments in the polishes are usually awesome – I typically only need one coat of color for full coverage. Julep Maven is a monthly program – you make your style profile, and each month you are presented with a collection of nail polishes and products. You can opt out each month if you don’t wish to purchase a box as well. And, if you don’t like the selection of polishes/products in your style profile category, you don’t have to select them. If you see a profile box that you prefer, you can always opt into that profile for the month. If you’re interested, follow this link to sign up to be a Julep Maven.

What manicure were you sporting for the 4th of July?

  • Ooh I like that!! Can you only get Julep polishes through the monthly program? I like the textured look…I wonder if it holds up better than smooth polish?

    • I think you might have to create an account in order to purchase! I have to say, I’ve been wearing the polish for one week now, and there is not a single chip so far! I think there might be something about the texture that helps…

  • I have never tried Julep polish before, but it sounds really nice. The color is great with all those sparkles. I have blue on for the holiday too 🙂

    • I was a bit skeptical about blue polish at first, but it has really grown on me now that it is painted on!

  • Modern Beauty includes Sea Salt Texture Spray and Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil I love that Julep is expanding their products, but I am not happy about not offering any nail polishes in one of their style profiles. In my opinion, they should include at least one polish. Saying that, I am very interested in these products. I don’t need the texture spray since I have naturally curly hair, but the body oil is certainly catching my eye!
