My Style

Jewel toned peplum

It took me a while, but I FINALLY added a peplum piece to my wardrobe!

I have long been a fan of peplum: it is such a feminine flair for a piece of clothing. The bit of ruffle makes me happy, and I love the shape it creates.

Peplum is great if you are a gal wanting to create a little bit of curve in your figure – the cut typically cinches in at your waist and flares out at the hip. So – if you don’t want to accentuate your hips, you might want to steer clear of this particular style. In my case, however, I don’t mind adding a little flair to the hips, and this “Hedge Green” peplum dress from Target was absolutely a perfect match for me.

Peplum dress: Mossimo, purchased at Target // Filigree pendant necklace: c/o Ann Taylor (similar on sale for only $34.88!) // Leopard print heels: Ivanka Trump, Nordstrom (similar at Target) // Handbag: Urban Expressions Ditsy hobo (similar here) // Floral stud earrings: kate spade new york, purchased at T.J. Maxx (similar here)

Yep. This dress is from Target! I was actually VERY impressed by the quality of this particular dress. The material is thick, and the dress definitely shows off your figure, without being skin tight. I also can appreciate that the hemline is appropriate – if I worked in an office, this dress would certainly be something I would wear! And you can’t beat the price at $27.99…just saying!

I am still oh so very in love with this filigree pendant necklace from Ann Taylor. Seriously – check out their jewelry for some amazing pieces! The quality is so great; they could make for some wonderful gifts…if you’re already thinking about your holiday wish-list…

…and every girl should have a pair of sassy printed pumps. I bought this pair last year, and I still wear them constantly. You’d be surprised at how many outfits a pair of leopard print heels will coordinate with!

Have you added a piece of peplum to your wardrobe yet? What does it look like?
