Dead Bolt Winemaker’s Blend: wine that won’t break the bank

Are you prepared for this week’s holiday? I have to admit: Thanksgiving kind of snuck up on me, but I’m quite ready to spend some time relaxing and spending quality time with family.

Dead Bolt Winemaker's Blend Red

One essential component of Thanksgiving at our house happens to be the wine. Selecting the perfect bottle (or bottles) to complement the meal is essential.

I recently had the pleasure of sampling Dead Bolt Winemaker’s Blend and found it quite pleasant! This California red wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petit Syrah, and Shiraz. The exact percentages of each are under lock and key though…or behind the “dead bolt,” if you will!

The wine itself is a deep ruby red in color with hints of purple as well. The aroma is of dark berries and just a hint of spice. If you like a jammy red wine, this is for you. The mouth feel is very smooth to boot. It would be a nice choice to serve at your dinner table, as it would be a crowd pleaser all around. The red blend would be great paired with meat and vegetarian options alike (I think some sauteed mushrooms with garlic and rosemary sound like a great combination with this red). I would definitely pour a glass alongside a bowl of White Bean and Spinach Soup, or perhaps with some grilled pizza!

Now – I haven’t had the pleasure of uncorking the white blend yet, but I am truly looking forward to it. The Dead Bolt white is a blend of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. The flavors are of white peach, pineapple, and sweet spice. I am quite sure the clean flavors are going to be a winner in my book, but I just might have to check back in at a later date and report my findings!

Are you ready to pair your Thanksgiving meal with wine? What will you be serving?
